About the Workshop

Instructors: Luz Rondon & Magda Castillo, Creekside Ranch

All Skill Levels | Ingredients and one cheese mold included
Class size: 6 to 8
Registration: $75

Discover the satisfaction of making your own queso blanco from scratch! In this three-hour workshop, Luz Marina Rondon and Magda Castillo, cheesemakers from Venezuela who own Creekside Ranch in Young Harris, will guide you through creating this traditional Venezuelan white cheese. You’ll separate the curds (the solid part of the milk) from the whey (the liquid part), then place your curds into a mold. Take home your handmade cheese, your mold, and instructions for finishing the cheese at home.

While the milk coagulates, you’ll learn to make arepas, a traditional Venezuelan bread, and enjoy them warm. With a small class size, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and receive individual guidance.

A minimum of six paid registrations is required for the class to proceed, with enrollment limited to eight students.

Location: This class will be held upstairs in The Club, accessible by stairs. Please consider your mobility needs before registering.

Photo examples are provided for inspiration. Each participant will make their own cheese, and the finished appearance may vary.
