Artistic Creations Is Coming Together!

My wife, Kim, and I are excited to start sharing more about Artistic Creations.

What started as an idea is quickly becoming very real here in Young Harris, Georgia.

We’re now working with about 10 instructors and are finalizing contracts and scheduling dates for our first classes. We have instructors in the works for ceramics, painting, gourd carving, and metalsmithing, and we’re beginning conversations with others who can teach fused glass, baking, cake decorating, sewing, basketmaking, and more.

The idea behind Artistic Creations is simple. We want to offer small, hands-on classes where people can learn something new, try something they’ve always wanted to try, and enjoy spending time with other people.

We’re not trying to be just an art studio. If someone has an interesting skill to teach and people want to learn it, we want to explore it.

The Social Club is coming together, too. We’ve already chosen the themes for two October events and are working on dates and caterers now. We’ll share more about those soon.

Some Social Club events will be open to everyone, while others will be specifically for the local LGBTQ+ community. We’re planning themed dinners, holiday gatherings, creative events, and other opportunities to get together and meet people.

Everything at Artistic Creations will be intentionally small and require advance registration. We want people to have time to participate, ask questions, get to know the instructor, and talk to the people around them.

Our first classes will begin in late September and early October, and we’ll be announcing the first classes and Social Club events soon.
